A very good and simple answer is plain old kitty litter!
Buy a bag of the unscented variety. Next, you need
a box with a tight-fitting lid. We use the boxes that
ten reams of paper come in at your local office supply
store. (You can also use something like a camp cooler.)
Pour a generous amount of kitty litter in the bottom of
the box. Add your book(s) and put the lid on tight.

It will take one to two weeks and most odors will be gone
It will be a little quicker if you fan the pages out when
you lay the book in the box. The kitty litter will do the
job for several months before you have to replace it.

Hope that helps you?
